Vehicle & Passenger Guildelines
Vehicle availability may be limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pendemic.
Our drivers will be wearing face coverings throughout your journey.
The vehicles will be cleaned with disinfectant products thoroughly after each booking, including seats, seatbelts and door handles. To provide you with total peace of mind.
A Covid in car screen can be provide seperating the driver from the rear passengers, upon request at time of booking.
Every vehicle will be equipped with face coverings, hand sanitiser and gloves.
Our drivers will open and close the vehicle doors, at the start of journey and when you've reached your destination, to minimise contact.
Our drivers will load and unload all luggage you have for your journey.
Upon reaching your destination and exiting the vehicle, we request that you remove all items, this included water bottles, food wrappers, tissues etc.
Manhattan Car Hire will require all relevant and reasonable information when booking. Additional requirements should be identified on the booking confirmation. Where amendments to any aspect of the booking are requested subsequent to 'Booking Confirmation' being issued, every effort will be made to accommodate requirements although no guarantees can be made.
Manhattan Car Hire operates 24 hours per day, 363 days per year. Bookings for bank holidays will require 5 days notice. All bookings are subject to vehicle and driver availability.
Fixed Rate Period of Hire
Fixed rate hire shall commence from time and location of pick-up and complete upon arrival at destination.
Special Rates for Day or Half Day Hire
Half day rates are up to 5 hours from time of collection. A fee of £50 per hour, or part thereof, will be charged in the event of the hire period over-running.
Full day rates of £50 per hour apply to hire in excess of 5 hours up to a maximum of 10 hours (over-running fees will apply, see above)
Other durations of hire, in excess of 12 hours, can be agreed on an individual basis.
Manhattan Car Hire offers comprehensive public liability cover to all passengers whilst using our services. We recommended you take out your own travel insurance to cover all other eventualities.
Manhattan Car Hire operates under the licencing regulations of South Somerset District Council (SSDC). Each vehicle is inspected, tested and licensed by SSDC.
Manhattan Car Hire will not be liable for any loss or delay caused as a result of the following: strike action, industrial disputes, riots, political unrest, hostilities, war, or the threat of war, terrorism, fire, flood, technical/weather problems with airlines or ferry operators, weather conditions or any other event beyond our control.
Manhattan Car Hire does not accept responsibility for injury, sickness or death of account holder, or passengers, except where such death, injury or sickness is caused by an employee of Manhattan Car Hire.
Payment can be made by cash (in person) or by Credit or Debit card. All major Credit and Debit cards are accepted.
There will be a surcharge of £11.50 for customers using either American Express / Amex.
Customer not present: There will be a £10.00 surcharge for card transactions over the phone.
(Unfortunately, we do not accept cheques)
First 15 minutes free, after the first 15 minutes if the waiting time has not been negotiated at the time of booking there will be a charge of £0.65 per minute there after.
All deposits are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation, except where such cancellation results from what we consider to be exceptional circumstances.
Parking, toll or hotel charges (if necessary) will be added to clients invoice at time of booking. Additional collections and drop-offs, not on original booking, will be charged on an individual basis.
All return journeys must be paid in full at time of initial drop-off.
Corporate Clients, (30 Day Accounts)
30 days after date of invoice your account will become overdue which means a service charge of 10% will be added on day 31 and every week thereafter on a rolling total basis, unless terms are otherwise agreed in writing before contract commences.
Any member of the party acting in an antisocial manner, causing unwarranted distraction to the driver, or generally causing concerns regarding safety, will be asked to leave the vehicle and seek alternative transport to their destination. No refund will be offered in these circumstances.
Any damage or soiling caused by the client or a member of their party will incur payments for repair/cleaning, including loss of revenue whilst the vehicle undergoes any necessary work. Please note Manhattan Car Hire carry out a strict no smoking policy in our vehicles. However additional time can be added to the journey for smoking breaks, but advance notice must be given at time of booking.
Price Match Guarantee
To take advantage of our price match guarantee we will require written proof on headed note paper of the other companies quote, which must contain matching details for a like for like service.
A 10% Discount will be given to the original proposer off their next Airport / Seaport transfer when they recommended our services and the new customer has made a confirmed return booking to either Airport / Seaport transfers.
Amendments to Terms & Conditions
Manhattan Car Hire reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
